A work permit in Kazakhstan grants the right to enter into employment contracts, but without obtaining an IIN (individual identification number), the immigration registration process is considered incomplete. An IIN is also required to open bank accounts, receive salaries to a checking account, and pay taxes. The procedure itself takes about 3 business days after submitting the documents. Additionally, it will take several days to collect the documentation and fill out the forms. An application for an IIN is submitted to the PSC. Obtaining a work permit is only one of the stages of attracting foreign labor.
